The National Group Legal® Benefit Plan With Special “Gold Cross” Benefits
We should add a brief description of what this is here?

image Legal Letters And Phone Calls on Your Behalf
For example, you’re involved in a disagreement with a department store over money due you or damaged goods. You call one of our staff Attorneys. Often just one free letter from your Attorney on legal stationery can speed payment to you or resolve an issue in your favor. Or the staff Attorney might even make a phone call on your behalf if he or she feels it will solve your problem. We believe in “PREVENTIVE LAW” - we encourage you to consult an Attorney and handle a matter before it becomes a legal problem. Statistics show that approximately 80% of legal matters are resolved out of court if legal assistance is received early. The consultation and intervention services alone may be worth your annual cost many times over because they're designed to keep you out of costly legal battles. Yet, no matter how many times you call and no matter how many letters are written or calls made on your behalf...it never costs you extra...it’s covered in your one annual low family fee.

Telephone Consultations
When you enroll in our plan, you may consult by telephone with our staff attorneys about an unlimited number of personal legal matters.

In Office Legal Consultations
If a matter is too complex to be handled by phone or mail, you will be referred to a geographically convenient attorney who will provide a half-hour, private, in-office session to consider your situation. Your membership entitles you to one half-hour consultation on each new legal matter which may arise during the year as often as they may occur.

Living Will And Proxy
At no added financial cost, Catholic Health Services has negotiated the inclusion of Health Care Proxies and Living Will for you and your spouse. Now, you can decide who makes life and death decisions if you are incapacitated.

An Extra Will For A Family Member Or Will Update
Wouldn’t you like to decide who raises your children if tragedy strikes? With a Will - you can! If you die without a Will, everything you’ve worked so hard to build could be lost. Typically, state law determines who inherits your estate, raises your children and acts as your administrator. With a Will, you make these life and death decisions. As a member, you and your spouse can each receive a Will (including, if you wish, a simple trust) to protect your children as part of our service. Your Will and an annual update to keep your wishes current, are yours as one part of your legal services program.

Document And Contract Review
Our staff will, without additional charge, review documents such as retail sales agreements, apartment and house leases, installment and rental contracts, promissory notes, bills of sale warranties, and other such documents...and give you suggestions on protecting your interests. It’s just like having a friendly Lawyer on retainer! (Specific Questions Only)

Free Referrals To Experienced Attorneys Guaranteed Reduced Legal Fees
If you’re faced with a more complex personal legal problem, you will be referred to a carefully selected, licensed attorney in your home town or local area. Each referral attorney has agreed in writing to offer you a discounted fee structure, including a 40% discount on their usual and customary hourly fees but never more than $175 per hour, whichever is less.

A Dollar “Ceiling” On Total Fees Charged for Specific Legal Matters
To protect you further, the following legal matters are subject not only to the above mentioned reduced hourly rates, but also to a scheduled “ceiling” fee for legal services. For example: Real Estate Refinance Mortgage, Divorce, Uncontested Separation, Uncontested Misdemeanor, First Offense Personal Bankruptcy

Emergency 24 Hour Hot Line
If a covered individual is confronted with a situation that requires immediate legal advice, he or she may call the emergency hotline to talk with an attorney after regular business hours. This emergency service may only be used in situations that cannot wait until the next business day, such as an arrest, accident, or assault.
